Back to Overview

Yacht categories are diverse, but they can be divided into monohulls, catamarans, and multihulls based on the number of hulls. A catamaran is a yacht consisting of two single hulls (floats) providing buoyancy, connected horizontally by a structure. Catamarans have the following characteristics:

1. Large Space: This is undoubtedly a significant feature of catamarans. The horizontal connection of the two hulls creates a larger saloon area, dining area, reception area, and foredeck on the main deck. The flybridge above is also more spacious. For yacht interior designers, this allows for more comfortable and user-friendly interior layouts, with more harmonious functional areas.

2. High Fuel Efficiency: The buoyancy of a catamaran is supported by floats on both sides. Therefore, the draft is shallow, and the floats are slimmer than monohulls, resulting in less water resistance during operation. A smaller horsepower engine can achieve a good speed, especially at economical speeds, resulting in greater mileage.

3. Good Stability: Catamarans have two floats in contact with the water, connected horizontally by the deck. This makes them less prone to swaying, with a smaller degree of roll. The spacious deck area also makes movement more stable and comfortable, reducing seasickness.

4. Safe and Reliable: Because of their small degree of roll, catamarans have a low probability of capsizing. Each float is equipped with a power system, so if one engine fails, the other can slowly return to port for repairs. Catamarans have a shallow draft, allowing them to anchor closer to shore. In the event of a grounding or collision causing damage and flooding to a single float, the other float can maintain sufficient buoyancy to prevent rapid sinking, increasing the time available for rescue.

This glass-hulled catamaran is of the Adalong brand, built under the supervision of CCS Classification Society. The length is 40 feet, 13 meters long and 5.2 meters wide. The materials, equipment, facilities, and components used are all CCS built and configured with Classification Society-approved brands. It is characterized by good stability, a beautiful and generous shape, resistance to wind and waves, and is equipped with 160 horsepower diesel in-line twin engines, a dual control system, and complete radar and navigation equipment.

Equipped with 8KW a diesel quiet generator dual air conditioning, dual operating systems. The main cabin can accommodate 12 people, and the two bedrooms can accommodate 4 people (each accommodating 2 people), two bathrooms, freshwater and sewage tanks, and the engine room is equipped with water-cooled and air-cooled devices. It is built and configured according to CCS standards.
